Both Roane County Circuit  and General Sessions Courts meet at the Roane County Courthouse on Race Street in Kingston. The courthouse is home to two General Sessions Courts, where misdemeanor cases can be resolved and where probable cause hearings in felonies are heard. It is also home to Roane County’s single Circuit Court, where felony cases can be resolved and where jury trials are heard. Our familiarity with the local judges, prosecutors, and court staff aids in our strategic approach to your case.
Each of the General Sessions Courts meet to hear cases on Tuesdays. It is not uncommon, in Roane County and in General Sessions Courts throughout the state, for 100 cases to be on the court’s docket on a single day. Many of the cases will be resolved on the day of court, while others will be continued to a future docket. The General Sessions Judges also handle juvenile cases and hear those cases on Mondays.
